A Shopify development agency with an SEO background
Shopify is a hosted platform. Your store runs on Shopify’s servers, so there is no hosting to buy and no security patching on your side. That simplicity is why so many UK and EU brands pick it. BeeTop comes to it from search. We have done SEO since 2010, so when we build a store we already know how it will be found, and the catalogue structure is settled before the theme is.
Collections, URLs and duplicate pages
Shopify has opinions about URLs. Products can be reached through several collection paths, tags can spawn thin pages, and translated storefronts need hreflang set correctly. None of this is hard to handle if you plan it early. We decide which collections deserve their own page, which filters stay as filters, and which canonical tags point where. That planning is most of the difference between Shopify web development that ranks and a store that only takes paid traffic.
Speed, apps and theme code
Every app adds scripts. Install fifteen and the product page drags on a phone. We keep the app list short and check page speed after each one goes in. In the Dutch project above, the problem sat in the theme itself, which loaded category text with JavaScript after the page had rendered. We rewrote that part of the theme so the content is in the HTML from the start.
Who Shopify suits
Direct-to-consumer brands, stores selling mainly outside their home country, and owners who don’t want to think about servers. If full ownership of the code matters more to you than convenience, WooCommerce may fit better, and the overview of all our website formats compares the options. Send us your product list and target countries, and we’ll come back with a structure and a quote.
